Countdown: 6 Months

Six months from today, I will become a Mrs.

Wow! When I think of like that, I get all giddy. Lots and lots of planning will come down to two people saying I Do and one hell of a party.

Then the after party. Forever. *swoon*
What's left on my To Do list before we say I Do?

CAKE TASTING! Yes, one of the best things about getting married. Two are scheduled in the next week.

BRIDESMAID DRESSES! Going tonight with 2 of my 3 bridesmaids to look at some dresses.

CEREMONY MUSIC! We have several people we are interviewing and should have this taken care of soon.

LIMOS! Have the numbers. Just need to write the check.

INVITATIONS! We have 2 we like - one a little more feminine than the other. Both are awesome so it's a tough decision.

RINGS! This is another really fun thing. More diamonds ~ yes, please!

I think we're off to a great start. We have to figure out what type of escort cards we are going to have for the reception, finalize centerpieces and other misc. decorating type details. I know the next 6 months is going to fly by so I'm trying to

See's Candy:This is What You Want the Easter Bunny to Bring

It's been a long time since I believed in the Easter Bunny, but I do still believe in Easter Baskets. Such a fun way to show someone you love that you care no matter what their age! That being said, I'm a total Easter Basket snob. No Cadbury Cream eggs and hollow drug store bunnies for me! I am a sucker for good old fashioned black jelly beans (yes! I'll eat all yours too!) and red licorice. But what really makes me happy is some seriously good chocolate. Especially if peanut butter, nuts, pretzels and caramel are involved too.

I was recently invited to the visit the newly opened See's Candies at Beachwood Place Mall and discovered some AMAZING treats to add to this year's basket! A Hollywood and cult favorite, See's is finally in Ohio. And to kick off the opening of the new location, the folks at See's were incredibly generous with all the samples and goodies they gave us. I was able to try a very large assortment of their sweet treats during the event and afterwards. Here's just some of the samples I received:

See's has a long chocolate making history including being in an iconic television episode...

We were able to recreate a version of this scene by racing to pack a box of chocolates. Everyone was a winner because we got to take them home.

So what will I be putting in my basket? These are some of my favorites:
These eggs top the list just for sheer cuteness!
Scotchmallow is one of their best sellers: an unexpectedly delicious mix of buttery caramel, honey marshmallow and dark chocolate, and I can see why. I normally hate normal marshmallows unless they are melted (S'mores!) but these totally won me over. Yum.
These stole my heart
Another favorite is their California Brittle - crunchy toffee brittle, almonds and milk chocolate.

If you like lollipops, get some of these - they are famous for them and one lick will tell you why
The rich flavors are amazing! Butterscotch, chocolate, cafe latte and vanilla are perfect for grown up taste buds. I love the stickless Little Pops and keep them in my purse for emergency sugar fixes.

For many, it's not Easter without a giant egg. These are still decorated BY HAND each one is unique. I love that real people are making real chocolate! No preservatives either.

And last but not least, their dark chocolate caramels with nuts are so addictive. They are in front in the picture above. I love that they aren't coated in chocolate so no messy fingers.

One small section of the candies available
They have so many choices there really is something for everyone including sugar free candy.

If you hop on over to the store by 3/31, you can get $2 off your $20 purchase. Click here for your coupon.

I was invited to visit the store and given ridiculous amounts of candy to sample and take home. While this obviously made me VERY happy, the content of this post is my own. **

Food for Fines

I'm a huge fan of the Cuyahoga County Public Library - where else can you check out books, read magazines, download e-books, "rent" movies, do yoga, learn about computers and even meet authors. For Free.

I even don't mind (too much!) if I'm late returning an item because the money they collect in fines helps keep my library the awesome place that it is.

But - if you have a huge bill looming (shame on you!) they are offering a little relief: Food for Fines. This program lets you waive your fines in exchange for food donations for the Cleveland Food Bank. Win win, right?

Sunday March 24th through Saturday March 30th you can bring in one of the "Super Six" most wanted food items:

  1. peanut butter
  2. cereal
  3. canned soup
  4. beef stew
  5. canned veggies
  6. tuna
and get $1.00 of your fines waived for each item donated. Or if you prefer, you can donate $1.00 and get $1.00 waived, up to $4.00 per day. Obviously, no expired or dented cans of food and no glass containers please.

So help yourself get outta debt and help the hungry!

You can also buy tickets for 4/14/13 Market at the Foodbank by clicking here.

TGIF & a Wedding Dress Sale

What a busy week - and the weekend is looking just as busy!
Are you as happy as I am that it's Friday??
This weekend will be filled with a party at my fiance's, wedding cake tasting (!), an early St. Patrick's Day party and wedding dress shopping at the Brides Against Breast Cancer fundraiser.
It would make me so happy to help this awesome cause while finding my dream dress! Even if you aren't a bride, you can donate your wedding dress or donate some cash. Much better than your dress getting dusty and going out of style in your attic!

TGIF lovelies!

First I have to congratulate my nephew to be - he made it to the Ohio State Wrestling Championships! I'm so proud!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend planned.
Mine is going to be filled with this...
It's a wild mega dress shopping extravaganza weekend with a fabulous birthday party thrown in at one of my favorites for one of my favorites.

Then my first pancake breakfast of the year - yum!

Whatever you have planned...
