Cleveland's Finest Hors d'Oeuvres always is a little special because it's held at Progressive Field right when spring training is kicking off. And this year was no different. Even some late afternoon snow didn't damper our excitement.
If you are a fan of seafood, this is the event for you! Lobster, scallops and shrimp were all popular features. And this year, the event was set up differently and had a much better flow. The lines didn't seem as long and it was easier to find a spot to nosh. They even had a coat check.
Chef Genevieve is always a favorite and had the most unique entry by far - the Polaco. The panko breaded and fried potato was delicious. It was a fun concept but HUGE - we definitely needed to share this one if we wanted to be able to taste everything.

Some of my favorites were the Shrimp Salvatore - crab stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon - The Woods and Ricotta and Sausage Involtni with olives and Veal Marinara Sauce - Zack Bruell.
The winners this year were:

First Place: Chef Marlon Mayorga of Corleone's Ristorante & Bar
Second Place: Chef Jim Bartko, Carrie Cerino's Ristorante & Party Center
Third Place: Polacos/Chef Genevieve Larson, Tree House - Avon, Ohio
As always this was a fun and delicious event benefiting one of my favorite charities.
Don't forget to mark your calendars for May 20th - Grapes and Ale is early this year. Find out more on the Facebook event page and get your tickets here.
** Disclosure: Thank you to Our Lady of the Wayside for inviting me to help promote this event. In exchange I was provided two tickets to giveaway and two for my use.
As always, the opinions expressed are my own. **
