Do you love Nordstrom as much as I do? What's not to love about amazing customer service, free shipping and all the pretty things?? It's one of the few department stores I frequent. When I received an invitation to the Cleveland area launch party for a new fragrance line they are introducing, I jumped. Kelly from Nordstrom joined us as we learned about the latest addition to their fragrance line up.
We met up at Press Wine Bar for a night of delicious eats, lots of laughs, a little wine and lots of perfume. We left a little more educated about how two cool chicks are trying to revolutionize the perfume business and smelling a lot better than we arrived too.
Pinrose is a luxury fragrance company founded by two lovely ladies in San Francisco that is made in the USA. They use only the highest quality essential oils, naturals, and synthetics and are phthalate and paraben free. Pinrose is available exclusively at Nordstrom and from Pinrose online. We met Erika (left, below) and let me tell you, she is seriously talented, passionate, smart and sweet.

One of my favorites ~ Merry Maker:
This one was developed with pregnant ladies in mind because its ingredients fight nausea. No big announcement ~I'm not pregnant, but it was floral without being too sweet and is exactly what I look for in a summer scent. Another favorite was Secret Genius.
Everyone was buzzing about Campfire Rebel:
It changes its scent as you wear it so it starts out smokey and ends up with a sweeter raspberry finish. Very unique and smelled great.
Don't you just love the quirky names? Another favorite of the group ~ Garden Gangster. Another cool thing about this line is that you can purchase Petal Packs , their single dose sachets. They are perfect for tossing in your gym bag or your carry on. They are also a great way to try a bunch of fragrances without committing to a full bottle. Even the full size bottles can be brought on board thanks to the one ounce size. Bonus: no pushy fragrance ladies trying to spray you as you walk by.
We talked perfume as we shared all the food at Press Wine Bar. Their entrees sounded unseasonably heavy so we ordered a ton of apps and shared. The restaurant was SO dark that photos weren't really on my mind which caused me to do a huge blogger fail - no pics of our awesome group! I did manage to capture a little of our feast.
The combination board and flatbreads (shredded winter squash, duck confit and house cured pancetta were our choices) were big hits. Skip the pork meatballs - the texture was tough. Instead order the excellent Seared Florida Gulf Shrimp Crispy grit cake, pickled sweet peppers with blood orange gastrique. It was my favorite of the night. We also ordered rose and this excellent Malbec.
