Locavore ~ and a Giveaway!

Locavore. Are you wondering what in the world that is? You may be one and don't know it!

The quick definition is one that pays attention to their food and eats food grown locally whenever possible. I like to think of it as a Green Foodie. But in this case, Locavore is a delicious fundraiser for the Buckeye Chapter of the National MS Society. Here's the scoop:

When: August 21, 2014
5:00 - 9:00 PM
Where: Windows on the River
Bridge View Room
2000 Sycamore Street
Cleveland, OH 44113

SEE MAP

Your senses will be indulged as you sample delicious hors d’oeuvres, decadent chocolates and pastries from local Cleveland vendors, all paired with some of Ohio's finest wines made from locally grown grapes.

There will be lots of my favorite local chefs showing off what they do best including:
Wine will be provided by Barrel Run Winery, Ferrante, Valley Vineyards and M Cellars

All this food and wine is of course fabulous, but you know what the best part is? The proceeds benefit the Buckeye Chapter of the National MS Society. This charity is very close to my heart thanks to many friends and family affected by this disease. I participated in the MS Walk for many years but I have to say, this is a much tastier way to support the cause!

Tickets are $60/ $80 each and can be purchased online by clicking here. Unlimited food and wine are included in both levels but the Patron Ticket also includes an exclusive wine tasting with a wine expert prior to the start of the event.

And thanks to the Buckeye Chapter, I have two tickets to giveaway to one of my awesome readers!

a Rafflecopter giveaway
All entries must be submitted using the Rafflecopter above. Please be sure to include contact info so I can get in touch with you if you win. Winner will be announced Monday July 28th. Good luck!

** Disclosure: The Buckeye Chapter of the National MS Society asked me to help promote Locavore. In exchange, I was given two tickets for myself and two to give to one of my readers. I support the MS Society on my own in many ways including personal donations, participating in the MS Walk and more. All opinions are my own.**

  9. My brother had an MS scare a few years back (he's essentially had ONE sclerosis rather than multiple) so I became closely familiar with it. So happy there are such great events in CLE!

  12. I go to a local old fashioned butcher for all of our meat, and I grow some of my own veggies and berries. My mother and grandparents have larger gardens, and chickens, so we get some things from them as well. I get most of the rest of my produce from local Amish or Mennonites. I rarely go to the grocery store. Some of our family loves to fish, too. So we get lots of fresh fish. We grew up this way. I'm so grateful for it.

  13. Some of my produce is as local as it gets: from my own backyard.
